Achieving a successful result in a spectrum auction is extremely important for a telecommunications carrier – spectrum is the core asset for a telco.  With hundreds of separate lots being auctioned simultaneously with up to 8 rounds of bidding each day, having a succinct and crystal clear suite of reports was essential to make sure the auction team remained on top of all the activity and to help them as much as possible to secure the spectrum they desired at the most competitive price.  Timeframes are very short and the data sets used for reporting are often only release within a month of the actual auction putting the modelling and reporting teams are under extreme pressure.
