Analytical Models has extensive tariff consulting experience in mobile and fixed line telecommunications markets as well as utility markets.

Our expertise includes customising operational models as part of our core consulting practice. Models can be developed that conform to the Standard Operating Environments of our customers.

A key deliverable of our consulting methodology is to provide software solutions our customers can use after we have assisted in analysing and implementing the required solution.

Listed below is a subset of the projects we have completed please contact us to see whether we can assist you in meeting your needs.

o Executive information tool to enable senior management to assess divisional performance based on a number of parameters such as attaining revenue and margin objectives, customer satisfaction and churn. This included a user-friendly front-end for data entry.

o Margin analysis tools to enable segment/product management to quickly evaluate the NPV of proposed marketing initiatives. The framework was based on analysing customer value using a lifecycle model.

o Sales tools to enable suppliers to the mobile telecommunications industry to cost-justify equipment sales. The NPV was calculated based on equipment price, capacity, equipment lifetime, training and maintenance costs in conjunction with the equivalent value of marginal customers who could be attributed to this equipment.

o Automation of information gathering by processing and cross tabulating of mainframe reports for month-end reporting. This reduced time to prepare month-end reports by 30%. A total of 30 odd reports were included in the automation process.

o Tool to extract information from spectrum auctions and prepare several reports to analyse bidder performance, prepare time-series of bidding, bidder potential exposure and determine lots to maximise bidding performance at minimal cost.

o Route optimisation tool to determine job allocation to drivers to minimise overtime, fuel and maintenance costs based on the constraint of optimising customer satisfaction. The solution was developed using our tailored optimisation model and consulting services

o Development of an existing system to collect, collate and summarise information required for 2 year management plan. This included several utilities to allow cost centre details to be exploded, summarised, new accounts added, creation of groups of cost centres and analysis of actual and budget performance versus management plan.

o Development and maintenance of a mobile phone bill optimisation tool. This tool used summaries of a customer's mobile phone bill to determine the cost optimal tariff for the customer. There were several different filters that allowed comparison to be made over different sets of tariffs depending on the profile of the customer.
